accelerator pedal problems.?

i have a 53 plate 1.4 16v sport and was wandering if it was an arosa thing or not,,, when you press the accelerator pedal theres the first half inch of pedal that doesnt do anything?? like you caN REST YOUr foot on it and it wont raise the revs?.... unlike my old polo which is cable not electronic which is alot more sencitive and you can feel the throttle as soon as you touch it,,,,, can any one help??? :whistle:

used to happen on mk3 ibiza's with the fly by wire throttle and to to re-sync it you leave the battery disconnected for a good 15 mins

personally i disconnect the battery and flash the lights to drain any residual current and teh reconnection usually sets it all back as it was

probably a vag-com option somewhere if it's easier

apparently its more in depth than that it can be anything from the switch on the pedal to the throttle position sensor on the throttle body!! :( bad news!!! i need to sort this as well as try to change my sid elight bulbs :(:( how am i goin to do that in that space!!! do u just pull em out or turn em?:S

got the computer plugged into it today says no codes but still a fault as you can push th pedal t the floor and still get a delay!! anybody else have delayed pedal? whats it supposed to tick over at?
