Acceleration Stutters

Hi everyone, got a 1.9TDI FR on 1st Sep, and I'm absolutely loving it, but one small niggle I have is that somwhere (usually around 1600-1800 revs) in each gear, when smoothly (or slowly) accelerating the car stutters. It seems to be about where the turbo would start to kick in, and doesn't really matter which gear I'm in.

Is this a common thing and is there anything I can do to resolve it? It's a minor thing but it can get annoying at times.

Cheers,
Adama

Ahh this seems like the Curse of the new "BLT" Engine (thats the new 130PD Engine Code superceeding the ASZ engine). This hesitation cropping up on the new FR's and VRS's. I seem to remember that Briskoda had plenty of threads on it so maybe you should pop over ther and do a search for "BLT Hesitation/stutter/shudder"

I dunno if a remap or similar would cure it, but maybe Briskoda can sshed some light on it

Good luck

this is very interesting reading, and NO a remap doesn't help as mine still does it. Agree with the threads on Briskoda tho about the fuel-cut off being at 1600rpm as mine does it exactly at that point if I don't press the throttle, then suddenly need to without changing gear! All very interesting, but haven't got time to read the full thread.

Mine been fine, no hesitation as yet, is done just over 9k at the moment but it has had the egr valve turned down using vag-com, not sure if this helps prevent the problem.

Thanks for the pointers to Skoda, all very interesting. I can almost recreate this problem at will by keeping the car steady on 1900 revs, then just squeezing the accelerator, and the car will stutter before it decides what to do.

My local dealership just shut down too, so I'll have to travel further afield now if I want it looking at which is a big pain. :-(

this is exactly the same as mine. Finally got round to booking it into the dealer next week. When I rang they said it was a common problem and that an ecu flash usually sorts it out- I'll believe it when I see it.
