Acceleration Fluctuating Problem

Fallen Angel

Leon Cupra 1.8T 20v 180
This problem has been going on for a while now, i've wasted 3 days pay with Seat previously sorting it and it going wrong again and i can't afford to take it back to them again [:@]

The car idles fine, but when in first gear, picking up normal speed, and between 2-3000 revs, the revs drop off sharply as if i've lifted my foot off the pedal, until i put my foot down a little more, at which point boost kicks in.
The last time i took it to Seat, they said a pump hose supplying the turbo had come off, they apparently put it back on.

A week after i fit my forge intercooler, i get that same feeling again

I'm at the end of my teather with this now, and i'm worried something else is wrong and is going to end up costing me megas bucks

It's taking the fun out of driving my car totally

PLEASE HELP ME

Took it to Seat again, no fault came up, he took it out for a spin, did nothing, i took him out for a spin, nothing. He said it could be anything but wasn't willing to guess and spend my money for me and it be wrong.

He mentioned the following:
Coolant temperature sensor
Charger Sensor
Air Flow Sensor

Any of these sound about right??

This is a common problem that lots of people on here seem to have. Its been described slightely differently but I have exactly the same problem. Its definitely an intermittant prob too.

I would really be interested to hear if you have solved it, I have tried MAF (Air Flow Sensor), N75 (Boost Control Solenoid) and resetting the ECU and Throttle Body alignment but it always comes back.

Goble, any idea what sort of job this Fly By Wire TB is to change? I did wonder if it was the Sender from the peddle for a bit.... Is that a possibility?

I have noticed that mine is doing exactly the same thing (Leon Cupra R), and it seems to be at about the same revs as yours.

No warning lights, no other problems, just (as you describe) a huge flat spot around 2-3000rpm in 1st gear.

At first I thought it might be over-sensitive ESP, but I don't get any lights on the dash to say that it is kicking in, so have ruled that out.

I have some time off work soon, so may be able to drop mine into a dealer and see if they can come up with an answer - Unless you manage to get a decent answer first, of course......

Problem solved, after being charged twice by Seat for a diagnostic and them coming up with nothing, my Lamda sensor failed just over a week ago, my mate serviced the car and fitted new Bosch sensor, it's running lovely now and i'm fairly certain the stuttering has gone and this was the cause
