afternoon :)

im getting vagcom error- 00792 ac pressure switch no signal-intermittent

is this likely to be due to no gas, or a faulty switch? for my last car i bought a halfords refill jobbie that came with a pressure guage, presumably i could use that on mine to see if theres any pressure? but where do i put it on to?

is it at the back of the engine, or is it the one right above the radiator?

many thanks
simon

yeah thats true, but tbh i cant be arsed to rip it all out, and when im stuck in a hot traffic jam i can be nice and cool!

if theres a leak i might rip it all out, but if its a faulty switch then ill repair it :)

yeah its ether needs a regas thats why its reading low pressure, or if you have gas it needs the sensor. good think is about the sensor, very easy to get to and you dont need to drain the gas out to replace the sensor, just unscrew (21mm spanner i think you need) and replace it.

not good news, just been out with my pressure guage, it wont fit onto the valve above the rads so i plugged it onto the valve behind the tip at the back of the engine bay and no pressure at all :( andf i also notice my d/v has been rubbing on the pipe that goes across the exhaust manifold!

(the bit with the foil like stuff round it) on the bend, not sure if its rubbed through and theres no sign of any liquid residue but that may be due to the heat :( not impressed one thing after another with this car

You sure your not hearing your secondary water pump running and getting that mixed up with the fans. the secondary water pump runs for 10mins after your car has be turn on, even if the ignition has been turned on

Hi mate, with regards to your dump valve rubbing the pipe, if you have a Forge TIP you need to either reverse the dump valve fitting, or cut that part of the TIP down, people stick some rubber where it rubs, but it's better to just cut the pipe down so it doesn't rub at all.

Sparkie... the error you gave it not a "low pressure" error (thats not to say your AC isn't empty though) but it's showing a problem with the actual pressure switch itself. You checked the pressure, so you also know that's an issue, but don't forget that you have two problems here.

p.s. anybody who wants to get rid of their working A/C can give it to me.. mine's broken and I want to replace it! Get in touch!

Ah ok! Would it say no pressure then? But is it showing the other fault due to low pressure? Or as you say do I have two faulty thing here? Bit weird how it's just come on! Worked about a month ago fine, and I can't find any residue from a leak either!
