bypass it direct by remaking the brake pipes is one way but worth checking your master cylinder bore sizes etc just in case you make it worse

locking up all the time would suggest you need the abs though surely ?

how u mean by lumpy? vibrating ?

probably need a bloody good service and fresh fluid as they are pretty problematic for abs solenoids/sensors/rear calipers etc if abused/neglected

i would rather they locked up, than to have them how they are atm.

with the peddle i mean if you put your foot down it vibrates and feels like someone pushing back on it? if you no wht i mean? then i get no control what so ever. and its not a good feeling. it only seems to be in damp or wet conditions though

cheers

that sounds like normal ABS lock-up? imbalance from side to side?
i'd be having a serious look at the whole system from pads/discs,sensors etc.
it's a 10yr+ old car, when was the last time the fluid was changed? like probably 90% of mk2's never

that vibrating on the pedal is the solenoids pushing fluid back as the wheels are locking up, your abs is working as it should basically

find an open space and test it first

all abs cars have a similar sensation and to be honest if you are in a situation that sets it off that bad then without you'd be in real trouble btu get it flushed/checked to be sure if you can't confirm last service/check

iirc it's one of the fuses in the secondary fuse box ( top row ) but ill have to look to see what one, should be on the lid anyway (back of drivers side glovebox)

worth testing it for a proper comparison that way you'll be used to it working and see the difference, off road of course

*edit*

may be worth waiting until all this slippy crap has gone first, see how you get on then
