Basically I hate the cupra ABS, just wondering if you can simply unplug the fuse or not.

I have heard if this mucking up the brake bias on some cars, any ideas if its ok to do on
a cupra?

Comes in too early and once it's on you have to come off the pedal and go back on again
before you can brake normally. It's really crap mate honestly.

check round all your sensors and wheels as it cuts in when it detects a wheel isnt moving i.e. locked up

press harder not let off for it to work properly if/when it doesnt cut in properly

pull the fuse will deactivate it easily but if it's coming on that easily all the time i suspect there may be a problem somewhere worth sorting out first or look at the way ya driving it maybe ?

I know how it works, and its deffinately working properly, I just dont like it.
If I press to the floor it will work fine, but I dont want it at all.

When the ABS is on you arn't slowing down as fast as when you are braking normally.
(assuming you can control the pedal and are not locking up) so I want rid of it.

I think I'll unplug it and go for a test drive.

Not being funny mate but this is one of the most stupid things i have ever heard of. Why would you want to turn off a saftey feature that is so important to saving not only your own life but potentially others. Who cares it if comes in too early? We drive on roads not race tracks!

I think its just not working properly as when i stamp on mine i can feel it working just fine. Dont disable it!

Mate, I can feel it coming one fine when I stamp on the pedal, but I dont like it.

You can slow down faster without it if you can control the pedal.

It's only safer if you just jam on the brakes all the way to the floor.

At the end of the day, in my old cars without ABS it was much more controlable and I could stop quicker.

It's got nothing to do with reactions. Obviously for some people who only use hard braking in an
emergancy situation ABS is benificial because they panic and go to the floor.

If you use hard braking when driving on country roads for example or on a track day, or even normal
braking in the wet then ABS does not slow you down as fast. It's not that ABS in general is rubbish just
the cupra's system tbh. My old 3 series' ABS was much better.

Just realised what you meant about reacting, but yes some people can although the vast majority
of the public would jam on the brakes and lock up without ABS.

I know what you mean, had no abs in the starlet GT and it feels way different, but in bad weather/icey roads i wish i had abs, By disbaling the abs you would also loose your tcs.

Shoot, didn't think about the TCS..... D'oh.

At least you know what I mean though. It's not that hard to stop a car locking up once its
started.

Doubt I will be doing it in that case.

Yeah I should really uprate the brakes before too long. I have a set of 4 pots (not for an ibiza)
But I need to make up some adapters so that they line up.

Yeh bigger would be better
If you running over stock power, then standard brakes would feel weaker than it should

Yeah it's not running standard power. Not sure what upgrades people do to the rear brakes though???

Just uprated pad on good standard disc, if you wanted uprated disc, all depends on the power, its maily the front that take most of the braking

mine runs much better on the track with the abs off can stop much quicker in a shorter distance! track only though for insurance reasons

But insurance is the only reason isn't it

I think it's on clio sports but some cars chuck too much bias to the rear when the ABS is disconnected,
I take it that didn't happen in the cupra?
