Abit of ICE advice needed

So with xmas just round the corner im thinking of upgrading the speakers in the motor

Im looking for a discreet setup basically, so it looks like its standard from the surface

I dont want a 15" sub in my boot taking up all the room, but i have heard with the mk4 3dr's you can fit two 8" free air subs, is this right ?

I have around £200-£300 to spend, so what should i go for everyone ? and where from ?

Any advice would be great, cheers

try the ICE section mate...but i would suggest gettin a 10/12" in an enclosure, will sound better than two parcel-mounted 8"s.

The standard speakers are pretty decent so as long as u get a good hu u'll have good sound with a sub in the boot. like that u can spend more on a better sub and custom enclosure

Im thinking of getting new speakers all round if im honest. The standard ones i have in at thee moment seem very poor !

I have heard the 8" free air subs can fit where the rear speakers are now so you dont have to mount them on the parcel shelf ?

Are there any you can suggest ? Rainbows are apparently decent ?

i wouldnt waste your time with a free-air sub, stick to a boxed system
if your still running the stock headunit you wont see a great deal of difference

Yep, I'd change the head unit first, use it for a week and THEN decide if you want to change speakers and not just add a sub, I've got a feeling you may appreciate the speakers once you get a decent head unit in there.

Thanks everyone some good advice

Think i will get a decent head unit then and go from there

Any websites and headunits in particular you could reccommend ?

I like going with the OEM look with things but i dont think i can sacrifice the sound quality for it

Alpine it will have to be :)
