OK Have the Dreaded Mayo

lil bit on the dip stick
Loads up the Main crackcase Breather
But nothing under the oil filler cap?

Has been a little lumpy idleing lately but i'd just put that down to being a Cold ABF!!

Doesn't appear to be loosing water from the header tank
But it seems too much to be condensation, and it was a brand new breather pipe just a few months ago.

I've heard than the Oil Cooler heat exchangers can fail internaly giving similar symptoms to head gasket fail.
Is there any way to easily test that before i start pulling the head off??

ANy ideas/ Previous experience??

Thanks

I remember someone cleaning out an oil breather pipe recently, only for it to be filled with mayo again a couple of weeks later. I can't remember what engine it was on though.

No oil in the header tank I take it?

Nope no oil in the water, but this is far too much mayo to be winter condesation

cheaper and less hassle to start by ripping the oil filter off and exchanger and check that out first ?

if you do rip the head off after you will be changing oil and filter/coolant anyway so nothing lost all to gain
