ok! i would love some feedback on this so here goes!

im after some inlet ideas for my ABF, i would love to get as much bhp/tourqe throughout the rev range! so im just wondering what's the best set-up for the money!?

Bike carbs
Bike throttle bodies
delortto 45s
webber 40s
Jenvey throttle bodies!

the plan is get to 250BHP ideally! but 200 would be nice! and im starting with the inlet and working my way back! ie inlet to exhaust.

If you're putting carbs on, you may need to change the entire fuel system, throttle body would be better and then a remap or something.

It’s a question that’s been asked many a time.

Will you be taking it off the road to do the work ?

How much work will you be doing yourself ?

Will you be running the car everyday ? if so you need to think about the potential fuel costs once its back on the road

With cams and a Charger you’d be lucky to be getting 250bhp.

If it were me and I was going to do a mk2 abf again I’d go for the charger all day long.

id do some of the work myself the fitting isn't the problem. its just the wiring that might be the problem for the standalone BUT with the right wiring diagram im sure i can get it working :)

200 is going to be hard to acheive on carbs, easier to use standalone. You aren't going to get any more low down torque which you want with any of that tuning though.

You are not going to get 250bhp! Bodies with a bottom end you will be lucky to get 240bhp.... the F2 Ibiza was 280bhp and thats in a different league! lol

For overall torque & power throughout the rev range on an N/A engine then thottle bodies... had a 2.1 ABF Mk2 Golf with carbs pull 2bhp more than me but hardly any power below 4kand I mean a standard 16v will have more than that produced! Whereas my torque is basically 20-30lbs/ft off my peak when below 4k.

If you're sticking to N/A power and want the best possible power then it will be no cheap way around it..... throttle bodies - end of story!!

How about looking into the gearbox with a 3.94 or 4.2 Final Drive with an ATB diff, keep telling people because this was the best improvement I ever saw! Apart from the bodies of course!

i know this is the typical answer but bang a 1.8 20 v in will work out cheaper and easier to modify i mean i was looking to do what you was but weighing up the pros and cons i went the 1.8 20vt route and looking round sp fare the engine ecu wiring and hoses has cose me 500 and im looking to get 250bhp once tuned up i mean yes im taking my time but that 500 is going down as sent tax back got 90£ back and declared to insurance is garage and sorn so is now £8 a month so there i have a saving of like 150 so i can get the intercooler and few upgrades :)
