right, the guy i bought the car from had it mapped with standard everything, apart from DV. i've since then fitted a carbonio CAI, downpipe and sports cat, custome cat-back so just wondering if its worth getting a 4bar fuel regulator thingy and getting it fitted with a new remap? would i see any gains than the map on it just now ment for standard parts? cheers

With the mods you have now, it's recommeded that you go to Stage 2. However, if you really need the 4bar Fuel Regulator, I'd get that done before the map so you get the best out of it.

And yes, you would see gains over the stage one remap but it differs from car to car as it's a custom remap.

to make the best of the mods you have paid out for, then yes a stage 2 or custom map would be recommended. Although dont expect as much of a gain as the original map. (or anywhere near this)

DO you know what map it was? if its revo you can pay an upgrade price which is cheaper than a full remap. Otherwise you may find you have to pay out for a full remap.
regarding the 4barfpr, not all tuners require this, so have chat with whoever you will go with before hand to see what they say. If you do need one many mapers will fit it for you at the same tip at ittle or no cost.

I would check with the company who are doing the mapping as some require a 4bar regulator and some dont.

It depends on what mapping you have. Some software types require a 4bar FPR, others don't. Our APR software doesnt require one at all. We did some testing with APR on our rolling road a few years ago, and they tried a car with and without one and they saw no need to use a 4bar one at all.

also is it worth the extra money to get a branded remap like REVO or is a car tuning garage been on the go for years and years just as good?

If you are going straight to stage 2 then your looking around £500+VAT. With this though, and the mods you have, you should see up to around 230bhp, but your intercooler will be more than likely heat soaking like a trooper. So a front mount would be worth while in the long run. At the end of the day the choice is yours, but it is always better, in my mind, to go with an experienced VAG tuning specialist with the back up and research to help you out.

Elliot,

i ve had a stage 2 custom re-map with Jabbasport and ive not looked back, its now 246bhp and no need for a 4 bar regulator, just simply a bailey DV, miltek sports cat with full exhaust and a K&N . If your not too far away from peterboro is def worth the trip. They were running a special offer and i paid £365. They are very good
