Just bought this today and a few questions if I may:

1. Tailgate won't open and wondered if anyone could help with possible faults and how to rectify? Seen comments re hitting badge etc but wondered if any other info available.
2. Only one key and would like a spare but following searches it would appear that this may prove difficult. Any advice appreciated.
3. Rear SEAT (S) sign is missing. Could someone please confirm part number for this item so that I can source a replacement.

Just ordered Haynes manual so should have a good source of info readily available soon but would appreciate any advice from the site if you can help.

Many thanks in advance.

1) THe locks are funny - probably find someone locked the boot manually with the key then proceeded to hit the RCL button - this tends to **** them up - but through a combination of guessing & openning with RCL you'll get there in the end

unfortunatly if the lock won't budge still, you'll have to sit in the boot & "break in" to the lock area

If I'm home in daylight I'll see if I can remove that panel so you can see what you'll be looking at.

2) Not diffecult really, but the key will need coding to the Immo

3) the SEAT badge in the middle in the reflector bar?

ie - the only one here

For info, SEAT in Middle Wallop have just quoted me £64.47 for non remote key and £150 ish for remote (they are not certain if remote is applicable to my car and would have to check it out).

£64 consists of approx £30 for key and same again for coding.

Am waiting for several auto locksmiths that I have e-mailed to get back to me to confirm what they would charge for a similar key.

That's not too bad really....

I think you'll have RCL, my SE has it (but it's broken)

I'll get you the part number later(might be worth emailling me as I'll probably forget)

Thanks for the info by e mail m0rk.

Also very poor MW radio reception so are there any common problems in this area? Still to remove and check connections etc so might be simple fault but asking just in case.

I have received my haynes manual now so should hopefully be able to sort out problems using this for guidance. It has pics for tailgate trim removal etc so will try and get in to sort out problem.
