HI all

my first ever post here and its a question about my wifes 96 1.4 cordy.:help:

It overheated about 2 weeks ago and on pulling off the hoses they were full of gunk, i cleaned out all the hoses, replaced the rad, thermostat and water bottle and now the water just doesn't seem to be circulating, red hot top hose cold bottom hose and its boiling up again, i had this prob with a primera that i race and solved it easily but this time nothing i do seems to make a difference,,so i was thinking that maybe the head gasket has blown, just wondered what any other owners with more seat/vw engine experiance thought before i ripped the head off........any info would be greatly appreciated

thanks

i had similar with the hot and cold hoses, was the thermo.. why not 'water test' the one you fitted? easier than ripping the head out.. :)

oh, and welcome by the way
