Well Kings want £525 and are trying to get me to do brakes and A/C.

JKM is £405...

Looks like JKM then, but that'll be in Feb as car tax this month too :( plus I want to save for an R32 rather than spend on the current car.

Seems a bit steep - is that including the timing belt and water pump? Brake fluid change?

They quote cam belt etc. etc.

Looks like i might be getting new discs and pads too :( time to trade it in for an R32

Is that to change cambelt? i thought it was supposed to be checked at 60k & changed at 120k? at least thats what my handbook says :confused:

The cambelt and more importantly the water pump can be prone to early failure on the 1.8T engine. I think as a general rule it's best to think about changing them at around 60k and it makes sense to do them both at the same time.

If I keep the car I'll be going to JKM, but I'm off to Kings this weekend to test drive a MKIV R32
