5w40 or 5w30 for my fr tdi?

Hi.i'm driving ibiza pd130 and upsolute remap(173hp)
I used to use castrol slx pro. (505.01) 5w40 and when the car needs oil change yesterday,i bought 5w30 slx professional (505.01).Some forums users said me 5w30 will be harm your engine you must only use 5w40.
What is the really different 5w30 and 5w40 any perfomance or engine life?Actually i only think performance

Ok, 505.01 will be fine for your car. The cupra diesel actually runs on 5w30 which has a spec of 507.00 which is the latest spec which all the latest audis/vw/seat/skoda run on.

As yours is mapped with a hp higher than the cupra I would go for the 5w/30. I have a mapped 130 tdi and I run mine on this with no problems.

*IF you look in your manual it will say that both specs are suitable for your engine.
