Hi all,

I have an 53 plate 130 TDi leon and it is almost up to 60K miles. and will obviously be due its next service. Just called local dealer, Kings Seat in Southampton, and they state that a 60K service is £240-250 and a cambelt change is an additional £355! :-o

Im quite shocked at that cost, but is that usual??

What has everyone else done when it comes to servicing? T Ive had the car six months and its a dream to drive and after previously having awful luck with cars I want to keep this one tip top. In addition to that all previous services on the car have been carried out by a seat dealer. But how important do you consider this to be? provided that it is serviced, should that be OK despite where it is done?

Has anyone got some other suggestions of good garages to try in the southampton area?

Cambelt change shouldnt be that expensive! I got rid of my TDI before 60k however I seem to remember them saying it was £250 for server and additional 80 quid for cambelt change. This was a while back though....

Chris, how do you go about convincing the skoda garage that their 1.8t is the same as yours? I just wrang my local dealer and they asked me @you do know this is a skoda dealer ship dont you' in that kind of tone that people use when they think you dont understand their language.
