Hiya folks [B)]

In a month or so's time my Cupra will be up for its 50K Service.

I have just used the Seat dealer in Braintree, Essex to do the services so far, so will do the same but I was wondering;

Do I need to ask them to do change the timing belt, brake fluid, Cam belt & water pump on this one?

Or is it too early, and I could leave it to the 60k One?

I am aware VAG say 120,000 but that seems excessive, im pretty sure it needs changing around the 50-60k mark?

Sean :)

I've been told, 120k, and 60k, im getting mine done at around 60k, as it should lessen the chance of any damage.

And your probably right, while its in, change the water pump.

You'd have to ask, as they wouldnt do it as part of the normal service.

My service is due including the cambelt etc... I've been quoted by a seat mechanic £350 as a private job all in! Would this be a fair price? How much are they with a Seat Dealer? He told me around double as the cambelt is a long job!

If anyone can give any info ;)

I was speeking to a garage the other day and according to the book that they have a Cam belt change is only 2 hrs!! Not really a long job. Id phone around first.
Infact iam sure that my local dealer only wanted about £200 to do the belts.

He said "service including cambelt". At my dealer, this took the total bill to 4 hours labour + parts (2 hour service, 2 hour allocation for cambelt). Expensive, at any garage.

Worth remembering getting them done together won't save you additional labour - not at my local Stealer anyway.

How much you getting charged?

The mechanic said 4hours to me also! How much does parts cost for the job? around £200? including the cambelt? So 4 hours i'm paying £150 in his sky rocket (pocket)
