3rd party vag com cables

I have purchased a cable from alpha bid, but I can only comunicate with engine, abs and airbag controlers. Does anywhone konw where is the problem as my car has many more controlers.

Do you get a 'No response from controller !' message ? Same here. I put it down to only having the shareware version of VAG-COM.

no meaning having a shareware version. it should either comunicate with all the controlers installed in the car. I think that alpha bid cables are a bad buy.

has anywhone with other 3rd party products had more luck?

yes I get that responce, but it is not the shareware program, it seems to be the cable or the drivers.

The straing thing is also that when I run OBDII test, I get the message "the car is not OBDII compatibile..."

Same here, haven't messed around with the full version yet, although I do have it.

Used the freeware version which came with the cable, only needed to reset my airbag fault code to turn the light off on the dash.
