35k service

Hi all

I need a service at 35k miles for my LCR but it is the 4th one so it is unfortunately coming under the big 40k service which I am not over the moon about.

I have been quoted between £315 - £330 for this service which seems ridiculously high. For those that know this is for Farnham and Camberley.

I am in the Surrey area (Guidlford) so really I would like some thoughts on this price and whether anyone can recommend any other garage I can go to?

I have tried JKM in Pompey who are cheaper but I don't think they are open Saturdays so it is difficult to get down to them.

Any help appreciated, as I need a service very soon.

It's because its a 10k or yearly service so its really the 4th year service that your having I suppose...

I had my 40k service done recently for £260 from my local Seat dealer, price included new front wipers, so it does sound a bit on the high side at £330!

Mine (LC) is having it's 80k service this Friday, got 3 quotes from local independents, 2 of which are VAG specialists:
Jackson & Phillips £270
VAGTech £240
Total VAG £211
So as Iain said your quotes sound a bit high.

Thanks for your replies.

I thought it sounded high. I'll call round tomorrow and go a bit further afield. The £330 quote was apparantly because they will use fully synth oil.

They charged me for my 30k service nearly £30 for the oil (synthetic) they used! Absolute rip off IMO! it was done at my local dealer.

I used to service my Corolla and used castrol magnetec which is prob better oil than what SEAT use and it cost me £20 with my trade discount.

Well I have heard back from JKM and they are open Saturdays now, so I am going to have my service done with them - they use fully synth oil and it is £85 cheaper than my nearest dealer.

this is more in line with the above said quotes.

I am happier now.

SEAT RM Fisher in Lancaster gave me quote for £230 for the 40k service...SEAT in Kendal Motor Village was £260. so i think £330 is abit out there
