Just had my Cupra serviced. I must heartily recommend these guys at Automotive Performance Services, Brackley.http://www.autops.co.uk/index.php
I had a 30k service carried out for £60+vat, a special offer, so I dont know if it will be around for ever. Top guys, they are proper enthusiasts, and the place just drips of VAG (not that kind! ) Get yourselves over there if you are after any work, because the setup is top quality......
Well, on to the bad news. I need 2 new wishbones, an ARB and bushes, and a gearbox output seal replacing. [:@] The most forward bracket of the backbox has snapped also. My question is can a Cupra R backbox fit the Cupra? As far as I can see, the only problem could be the end meeting the valance. I hope not, as i may be able to get one cheap.
Also, I can get pattern parts for the ARB and wishbones, are they inferior or can anyone recommend them as a money saver??
Many thanks in advance!

Bloody hell thats a lot for 30k!! How on earth have your wishbones and ARB gone? I had a MK4 Golf which was 6yrs old, essentially same parts and over treble that mileage without a problem..... monday morning car?

No, the car is looked after, the thing about the wishbone bushes is that it costs the same in labour to press out the old bush and press in a new bush (in labour) costs roughly the same as a new wishbone complete with bush. With the ARB, the bushes have moved and allowed road salt(of which there is loads in Cornwall where I used to live!) to get in under and rot the ARB. G/box seal, thats just life, £5 part, £80 to fit!!. All infoabove is how it was explained to me! Approx £400 to sort by the way:cry:
