3 probs, 1 been no Reverse gear

Hi All,
3 problems not sure if they're related,

1; When cars cold it often engine dies right down when i set off, clutch down rev it picks up again the off we trot, Don't know if its happened when warm as the wife drives it mostly.

2; Engine man light just come on haven't put it on pc yet to find prob, suspect this may be related to above prob and not the bottom.

3; Got back home and car won't go into reverse, been driving fine all day, pushes down ok just won't go in rev. All other gears seem fine. No unusual noises or anything just parking it in drive and now stuck accross drive.

Any tips pls just going out now to vagcom it to find out whats the light prob

Just to add been out got it into rev now no 1st or 2nd again no extra noises etc just naff all in 1st and 2nd Rev is fine now

what car/year/mileage?
Got any vag com codes?
My engine light problem was the water temp sender

y 01, cupra, 6 spd box, 120thou ish

codes were for cent locking sensor and footwell temp sensor, nothing in relation to any of these faults. Think thats why the fault light was on as it did seem like a oven when set the 21oC

gear stick seems loose in 1st and 2nd.

no noises, warning or anything until i came to park it.
