would an ibiza with 270bhp hit 150mph on the clocks with reasonable ease? any got any experience of one? whats the acceleration like to 100mph? thanks

Pal u can hit 140mph in a standard one so 150 with 120bhp more shouldnt be a problem! Altho your looking at indicated not true figures remember!

A 200bhp Ibiza can hit 100 in about 15/16 so I would guess at high 13s??

A k03s can hit a true 100 in 14 secs (give or take). A 270bhp, I reckon mid to low 13's maybe?

Well the 100 time kind of makes it obvious pal, I would guess it would be under 25 secs to 150, altho that is a complete guess!

a remapped cupra (c.230hp) will pass 150 no problem.

the fuel tank isn't big enough to reach that kind of speed you would run out of petrol before you'd get there

Any way 106 gti clock speed is about 132mph accuratly.

but 45litres isn't going to last 5 hours which is what you'd need to get to that kind of speed in a 106 and it would fall apart before that

I haven't had mine that quick but it hits 130 indicated very quickly with 284 BHP ( obviously on a private circuit ). 150 MPH no problem.

What difference does it make about top end? These cars are all about acceleration! When do you ever need to hit that speed? Not many tracks, if any will you get near 150 ( depending how big your brakes are lol) and that speed is just plain stupid on the motorway! i know theres no way id wanna do 150 with a twitchy ibiza!

Thats very true, top speed is not important at all. Accelaration is what its about, and not much will touch a 270 BHP ibiza.

no, not joking mate. my 106 is 160bhp. i know the speedo isn't that accurate but i've seen 147mph on the clocks. probably more like 135-140mph

am getting an ibiza soon and have all the money to do the K04 upgrade etc. can't wait

yes but a mate of mine has just bought a 258bhp mk2 golf with a G60 lump in it and his hits 150mph pretty sharpish up a 3mile dual carriageway round my way.

how much power would you say an ibiza would need to see off a 240bhp mini cooper s?

Top speed runs are something you do once a year or so, remember not to drop the soap WHEN you get caught at that speed.

Everyone trys to break the land speed record in your car, but to race on the open road at 150 mph is dicing with death and prison imho.
