Hi guys
ive been offered an X reg ibiza Cupra
its got an AQX engine in it, not sure on turbo but its 154BHP so im assuming its got a K03 turbo. Its got after market wheels and a remap. with 88k miles. in yellow.

Does this car have Drive by WIre?

and has anyone done a conversion using this engine.

also to upgrade to K03s do i just change the turbo?

and what do i need for K04 power, (assuming, turbo, injectors, inlet and outlet manifolds?)

thanks

I think putting a 1.8t into a mk1 is alot more involved than a 2/3. Best look at some other mk1 1.8t builds, should be much the same.

Yep drive by wire as no throttle cable as such
Ko3s straight swap
Ko4 needs custom downpipe qpeng etc
Exhaust mani , turbo , injectors , etc ......

just swap the throttle body for a cable one and swap the ecu from an early golf that uses a throttle cable instead of a fly by wire throttle body, or you could just use the fly by wire throttle sensor off the ibiza cupra, if not i have one in my garage that i could let go

Conversion

Thanks for your reply guys,

as previously mentioned im getting a ibiza cupra pretty cheap.

the conversion isn't too hard, any 20vt will do, but AGU is preferred as larger ports so better on top end and for boosting.

i can bung in everything from the ibiza, if i break it.

or go down the sourcing everything seperately

Engine, Turbo (K03s etc) gearbox, VR6 Clutch, G60 Fly wheel, Sprinter intercooler, 16v mk3 GTi - Radiator, universal fans, etc.

just thought it might be easier buying a donor, hence why the enquiry on the ibiza.
