sounds like the resistor mod to me

I'm not really into all this so forgive me if I sound FICK!! Can you expand - do you think something like this would work on my 1.4 petrol Ibiza?

I initially thought "dodgy and won't work" but I looked at the guys feed back generally very good and a few people report increase in performance in the feedback comments. the only negs or neutrals seem to be from people with diesel cars who didn't read the ad properly which states that it only works for petrols.

Any drawbacks with this kind of mod? I've never modded a car before.... (I'm a newbie to this kinda thang.)

I AM IN FRONT OF YOU
all this mod is surposed to do is tell the ecu that the air comming into ya air fiter is cold. (and belive me this does not work)
save ya money m8 and get somthing what will improve ya perfromance like a new exhaust or a induction kit

Sorry this isn't really a problem but I can't seem to post in the Tuning section.

Has anyone heard of this product and do they know if it's any good?

It seems very cheap - but the ad and picture look a bit dodgy. for £7.99 though is it worth a go?

Any opinions appreciated!!

mate having had my car remapped at jabba and watching them work they are total professional people. a 20 bhp increase takes lots to achieve safely. sticking anything like that on my car and id be worried sick.

i reckon like others you should stick your money into an induction kit or wheels/zorst.

thing is if 20bhp can be bought for 7.99 i reckon seat would have put it in already

The way I look at it is, by adding this resistor into you car you are only really changing 1 setting nd also putting more stress elswhere on the vehicle. If you get a proper remap they will alter quite a few settings each to compensate for one another etc. Thats the way I look at it and wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. You might not develop a problem short term but using one of these longterm is bound to do something to you engine, otherwise why would seat have put something on your car to monitor the air temp if its not important??or am I just talking crap(it makes sense to me!!)

i was thinking about this...

the ecu gets fooled into thinking the air is colder so increases petrol to match.

so youve extral fuel but the same volume of oxygen. this would cause you to run rich? buggering your cat? loads of carbon in the engine

i read somwhere that the only way to create more power is to get more air inside the engine. so fooling the ecu cant work because you still have only the same physical volume of air.

the above may be complete boll@:?ks and im happy to stand corrected

a good induction might help get more air in that engine.

glad your saving your cash for somthing better
