does anybody know if i can get away with putting 205/45/17 without it rubbing on rather then the 205/40/17. im currently running 215/40/17 but these rub and have been told that they are rubbing as too wide.

Id prefer the 45 option if i can put these on without rubbing so it a bit of a smoother ride and also the roads round here are bad with pot holes.

I have tried searching but couldnt find anywhere to see if 205/45/17 rub or not?

Mine aren't standard either :p

But like I said before, a consistant rolling radius should be used! By increasing the rolling radius you'll be putting further strain on the gearbox and also put the speedo out by several mph.

Random1989 - I wouldnt try 225/40s! I have been running 215/35 18s for the last two years with no problems or rubbing at all but had to run 225/40s while I waited for some more low-pros to come into stock. Im down 45mm and they rubbed EVERYWHERE!!

I am running 8 inch wide wheels with a 35mm offset if that helps.
