I am reading conflicting information, can anyone clarify if my car has a cambelt or chain. It is a 2018 2.0 TSI DSG which is now 5 years old with only 32,000 miles on the clock. Also, if it's a cambelt, when should it be changed.
Cheers

It says timing chain.
Be sure to check your engine code is either CZPB or DKZA, just to be on the safe side.

My 1.4 Leon's engine has toothed belt but my previous car was an Opel with a chain-driven camshaft. Mechanics at the dealer were always saying the chain needs replacing only when there's some irregular rattling noise. I owned that car for 14 years/230k kilometers and chain was replaced only once at 140k.

We have 3 EA888 cars in the family. No change of timing chain.
During the last 14 years we have had 3 more of EA888. Never had any problem with the chain. We change oil more often than the service indicator suggests .
