I've been lurking this forum for a few months and have only today decided to create an account. I have a long-term issue with my Seat Ibiza 2011 (my first car, semi-auto, petrol) and long-term being that there hasn't been much headway in solutions except two weeks ago...
Anyway, I purchased a Seat Ibiza in Feb 2015, with about 34k miles on the clock. Im now just shy of 39k miles as I don't need it to commute to work (but partly due to the vehicle being out of action quite often).
My recent understanding with the SEAT dealership is that they found misfires on Cyl 2 + 4 and I had two new seal kits and injectors fitted, which solved Cyl 4 but not 2. Apparently Cyl 2 compression is low. Car went in with EPC and Emissions lights on with restricted revs / limp mode. Dealership wanted to take engine/head off which I authorised but then didn't - and said that they used a camera and the engine is damaged and want to fit a new engine for ~£4k+. Does this sound like it would be the solution?
The car passed its MOT earlier this year as the EPC light would come on once every month or so. It was only Jan/Feb this year when Emissions and EPC both came and stayed on. I have done oil checks (and im not very car savvy - sorry!) but I have also read about the throttle body or faulty brake sensors in some issues similar to this?

TLDR; misfire cyl2+4, seal kits replaced, misfire cyl2 and cyl disabling. ECU on idle after 30 secs. Emissions light on.
