2006 Ibiza TDI PD100 remap

Hi,

This is my first post so go easy on me.

Had a remap done this morning and boy has it made a difference... My cousin was surprised to see me right behind him up to 100+ in his 53 plate BMW 530i..

But what I have found that it will go through all the gears fine but will lose all power as i hit just over 115mph. I then have to turn off the engine and star it again otherwise it just crawls. At first I thought it may be a fail safe on the turbo or something ?? But it revs all the way through in all other gears...

I am ringing the guy up tomorrow to have a word with him but was wondering if anybody else has had or heard of this happening.

Sounds like Limp-home mode, caused by incorrect (normally under IIRC) fuelling

Yep, limp/safe-mode kicking in... The cause is deffo related to the remap...maybe too much fuelling or boost.

It revs up to 5k in all gears ok, then cuts out at 4.5k in 5th !!!!!

That kind of high-reving isn't very healthy for your turbo/engine...remember you're driving no gasser.
On a remaped PD TDI usually you should switch gears at 4.500RPM top...

The safety-mode usually kicks in at higher gears. Have your car diagnosed, (VAG-COM through the OBDII port will do nicely) and check for DTC's registered in the engine module. I bet you'll see some sort of "pressure deviation" error code... Let us know and good luck.

Realised today that I am only revving to 4.5 and it is actually cutting out at 4k in 5th gear

Rang the garage today and they seemed to think that it was putting too much fuel in. Booked in for friday morning to have the map adjusted.

so what figures did you manage to get from the re-map???

Not sure what the figures are because the guy said that the map needed time to bed in so wanted me to drive it for a few days then go back for a power run. Will ask for a go on rr when I go back on friday to have it changed.

When I booked it in he said the map would give me +30bhp and a third more torque..

It does feel quick though, gave a BMW 530 a good run for its money !!!!
