2 remotes????????

I am putting a Flip key on to my Seat Ibiza Mk3 and having a few problems programming the key. I am not having a problem with the immobliser surprizingly but more with the central locking and getting it to learn the central locking with the buttons.

I can get the new flip key to work the central locking...no problems at all, but as soon as i do that it knocks out the original key fob and the original remote..so it doesn't work with the central locking......

i can reprogram the original key and remote back and it works again but it knocks out the new flip key.

As i say, its purely the central locking function not even anything to do with the immobliser and starting the car at the moment.

Can anyone help???

Surely people operate more than 1 remote on their ibizas??

Is there something i need to do with vag.com to allow the car to work with more than 1 remote fob???

You need to do both of them one after the other. If you read in the back of the hand book it gives the amount of time you have, takes a bit of practice i found but easy enough.

i had the same problem mate, unfortunatlly it's a job for the dealer's, i could get my flip key working the central locking but not to start the car, but it would cancel my 2 original keys, (Vice versa) now i got 3 working keys for my ibiza and the lupo, seat charged 30 odd quid and VW charged 40 odd so i don't know how much you will pay with your local Seat dealer

well i have vag.com so surely its doable...

but ive got 2 reponses here...........

1 says go to stealer and the other says its possible by doing both 1 after each other...

any idea what page of manual it says that C3?

just went out and tried it straight after, and now its popped over to the standard key again!!

damn annoying i tell thee!!!

why does it sometimes register the key and sometimes it doesn't!!!!

I had no problems running both my flip and standard key, just took a few tries to get them both programmed intime def not a job for dealer!

Have you got the transponder in for your car and not the one that came with the key?

ive got the transponder for the car in the original car keys.....

and ive got the transponder in the flip remote that came from a seat alhambra?

how can i put the transponder in both keys if u see what i mean from the original car key???

In fact being truthful ive only got 1 half of the flip at the moment..

I have taken the old transponder out of the spare non remote key and put it in the flip key (its in the flip part) then programmed them in.

As mentioned they need to be programmed in within 1 min to get them both to work.

Thats a good way of doing it, as then you don't need the dealer or vag.com to sort out the transponder to start the car.......coz the transponder does the immoblisher and lets u start the engine....

im just talking literally about the central locking which doesn't need the immoblisher/transponder key to match up to work....

i think my issue is probably this 1 minute thing and it should work then.....

i got it done!!

now its time to get the key bit and try that out!!!!!
