2 Problems - Air Bag Light and Camshaft Sensor

Ok, so I got the car back yesterday after having the peddle box done and a full service

The airbag light is on. Apparently this is beause they took the drivers seat out. The light comes on with ignition, then when I fire it up, it goes off and back on again in a flash! Been told only VAG COM will clear this

Second problem is that the EML is on.... This has been on for a while due to 2 "Manufacturer Control" codes.... However, there's now a 3rd code:

P0341
Camshaft Position
Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
Bank 1 or Single Sensor

about 3 times last night the car wouldn't start up. I tried ticking over, and would get a loud pop, then it'd stop.... But next time it'll start....

Assume I just need a new sensor...

Oh, and also got the car back with a big nasty scratch

Couple of things I noticed this morning on the way to work...

1) after it warmed up, it would take about half a second for the idle to settle to normal - never noticed this before

2) when I press the clutch down, the boost gauge reads betwee -12 and -14psi.... In the past it would have read -20 psi....

3) when slowing for junctions, I put it in 1st of 2nd gear and would get a couple of loud pops.... In the past this only happened shifting up, and after a lengthy blast

Do you think all of these are a result of either a fault sensor, or the timing being out?

has the cam belt been done recently?
cam position sensor could be at fault. seen it once recently on an ibiza.. also dodgy earths on battery flagged several fictional faults, including cam position sensor

different vacuum on idle is indicative of an air/vacuum leak from the inlet manifold

I understand the sensor possibly causing the EML and not firing up 1st time.... But what about the other 3 "symptoms"? Could these be caused by a faulty sensor? I was thinking more "mechanical" such as being a tooth out or something??????

spoke to my mate, and he said the timing marks were checked 3 times by the guy who did it, then once by another guy and once by my mate.... hopefully just the sensor

If it's the camshaft sensor, I've just been quoted £105.03! Really hope the timing is out by a tooth, and he can sort it tomorrow!

yeah, just rang mechanic, and he was adament it was ok.... then described the "symptoms" and he said to take it in tomorrow to look at it

Ok, so I went to the garage this morning, and no-one was there, so thought I'd clean my car whilst waiting, ready for a date tonight. Pulled on my drive and noticed this

Someone has brushed against the car...

Closer inspection:

So gave the car a quick clean and more revealed:

Those pictures were taken in the shade. So don't show up well.... Anyway, went to garage again. Discussed timing, and he's adament it's right. So much so, we made a deal, he'll fit a new sensor and if it's wrong, he'll pay for it.... If he's right, I pay.... Simple.... Then he asked about these scratches (I had text my mate to tell him, and he must have told his grease monkey).... Grease monkey pretty much admitted to the scratches as there are 3 groups of them (scratches). Looks like the door has be opened onto something

THey looked SOOOOO much worse in the sunlight.... So when I got home, I tried parking in the sun, but being silver, they don't show great. Most of them catch finger nail, so will need paint. Something I can probably do.... Some folk have already suggested asking them to pay for a spray job, but TBH, not worth the hassle. It'll cause hassle between me and my mate, and the other (main) issue is, we all know I ont get a good finish from the paint shop ;)
