2.0L Leon fr down pipe or pre cat removal

Hello people not sure if it’s been asked before but can’t seem to find it anywhere.

is the much of a difference between buying a turbo back down pipe and just smashing out the pre-cat material?

2010 seat Leon fr 2.0L petrol

Could get a larger diameter pipe if you buy an aftermarket item.

Yeah was hoping for a 3 inch
all the way through(eventually)

but was wondering if the the space you create when Smashing out cat (is a lot bigger than 3 inches) if there is much power difference between that and a 3inch down pipe.
