2.0l 16v Gerabox, Help!

Hi, need a new gaerbox for my 98 cupra sport, tried loads of breakers, no luck. I have been told that the mk 3 golf gti has the same box, i have already tried a box out of a passat ( i was assured it would fit!) but the holes in the box would not line up with the holes ion the block! If anyone has a gearbox for sale or knows where there is one could you let me know, Cheers

Best I got is your box is 02A type, ratio 70/19
Replacement part number is 02A 300 043 JX or 02A 300 046 HX - not sure why there is a choice of 2! If you call a VW dealer they should be able to tell you what cars these fit, then you can go looking. Could also try Audi dealer

I was looking for an 8v box yesterday and luckily found a mechanic with one under his bench 15 miles down the road.
Anyway, not sure where you are, but I did find a 16v one at a breaker in Huntly, North of Scotland. I'll pm you contact details.
He said it was in the car and he'd need to take out, but no idea of cost or if he'll courier it. Might be worth a try if your desperate anyway.

i have a 2ltr 16v gearbox forsale, around 70k on it. i used my 1.8 box on mine and now selling the car so not gunna need the 2ltr box. give us a call 07707092353 cheers!
