Hi,

I’ve got a Leon 2.0 TDI 140 June 08 which now has 24k. The fuel economy was 47ish for about a year but then it decreased to about 41mpg until a few days ago when I only managed about 80miles on £30.

There has always been a little smoke on acceleration in 5th and 6th which I have considered normal, but now there is lots of smoke on part throttle and considerable amounts of smoke when accelerating.

I’ve just started it up on the drive after it has been sitting for 2 days and there was some white smoke for about 30 seconds from the exhaust. Checked for boost leaks but I can’t see anything obvious.

Obviously the next drive will be to the Seat garage (Stoke – please feel free to comment on there abilities) if I make it.

Any thoughts comments? I’m obviously worried about driving it – perhaps I should have it recovered?

Many thanks, Chris

Past experience has shown me boost leaks don't always show when the vehicle is stationary as the engine/turbo isn't under load. Does the car make a louder boost noise than normal or have you notice a lack of power?

I wouldn't worry about the white smoke but if it HAS only done a few miles on that much joocc:) it needs looking at, (vag-com) I guess Premier are as good as anyone else in the circumstanses, should be ok to drive if not too far---which side of the border are you on?
