1st service..

may the farce be with you
ok, car has 8k miles on it, but its a dec 04 register.. i picked it up last july (05) with 50 miles on.. so as far as i'm concerned, the car is in effect less than a year old.

however, just gone in for its first service as the aircon isnt cold anymore.. the guy that picked it up said it would probably need regassing...

should i expect this to be done under warranty - should the aircon need regassing every 8k miles or year and a half? seems a little lame to me..

also, those with mk4 cupras - how long have the brake pads lasted??

cheers

sometimes a stone from the motorway can puncture one of the thin metal aircon pipes and cause a leek

if thats the case then its not under warranty

Only if it's on a Welsh motorway though.

Correct.

It's the cause of the leak that will determine if it's under warranty or not.

Done 9500 miles and the fronts are fine, discs are smooth, but the backs... thats a different story, they've been squicking at around 7000 miles and have got very deep grooves in them.

And they look like they have been sitting in a feild getting rusty. Want to change to tarox discs and pads, but need to find out if they'll fit or not.

Also the issue of the brake discs/pads seems to be quite commom issue across the range.
