Hi there, garage have told me my turbo's knackered on me Alhambra and quoted £1000 for repairs:-o. I can get turbo off eBay for couple of hundred. I haven't got a Hayne's and before I buy turbo and attempt it myself I'd like to know where the turbo's located and how easy/accessible it is.

So if there's someone out there who could help me I would be very grateful. Don't really want to part with the car if I can help it as there's tons of room in it and can't afford to get anything similar that work!

Cheers

What were the symtoms of the split pipe? Was it smoking or just down on power?

i have a seat alhambra 1.9 tdi 2001 model, all the power went and lots of smoke came out,i heard that when this happens the engine burns a lot of oil.someone else on the forum said they had a similar problem, but it was a split pipe,if mine isn't a split pipe, could you tell me where the turbo is situated.cheers jeremy
