17s or 18s with standard springs/shocks

Hey all.

im looking into getting some new alloys for my mk1 leon but dont want to change the springs and shocks. just wondered whether 18s would be ok on standard springs and shocks or should i go with 17s???

18's will go on fine, break clearance could be a problem, depending on the wheels.

I have the 18'' LCR rims on mine. Mine is a yr.2000 Lean Cupra with standard shocks/springs and it doesn't look like high at all. Sits nicely

And don't worry about the cost of tyres as they are pretty much the same or at least only a few quid
Get some pics of your car up as my mate has just bought the same car in the identical colour and is also looking to buy rims for his. He can't make his mind up on wheels

thats ok...on koni sports springs..lowered car 35/40mm..i live in rochford essex and the house is the former home of ann boleyn

that does look very nice indeed...i am thinking of getting R32's myself, they really suit the imperial blue leons imho.

you want offset 35-42...bolt pattern 100-112..there are r32 alloys on e-bay at the moment

yeah true i do like the 5 spoke but the vw multi spoke keep calling to me like smivvy said i just cant pick
