16v head, 8v bottom end

I haven't done any research on this yet but had the idea last night,

Are there any 16v heads that will fit with an 8v bottom end?

My car is a 96 cordoba sx 1.6 8v.

I know a 2 litre swap is easily done but i like the idea of a 1.6 16v, hopefully still keep my mpg above 40!

Any help would be appreciated.
