16v conversion

hi i have a 1.4 8v and i have herd the 16v top end would fit it i am thinkin about converting it i would like some advice on if it is pos and the best way to go about this. any help would be much appreciated thanks harry.

There are lots of hassles involved in this, main one being the n/s engine mount.
It can be done.
May be worth your while if serious about doing this to talk to skodaboy on the briskoda forum as he was looking into this and is a very clever chap, he has fitted a mk4 golf gti engine into a felicia, so knows his cars!
1400 16v's can be 75 or 100bhp, you could also go for the 1600 16v with 125bhp if youre going to be pulling it all apart anyway?

go to gsf or the likes and compare the 2 head gaskets first off... if the holes dont all line up you know its never going to work...
may possibly need a different timing belt? different tensioner depending what belt you can get away with etc

just a couple of things to consider

definately do this, i would imagine being twin cam you'll need different belts and and ecu too
