15" / 16" Wheels + Spacers

Ibiza Cupra

Guest
Hi Guys,

Just joined, brilliant forum!!

I've got a completely standard Ibiza Cupra in Yellow.

I've been searching and no one has got any information on 15" wheels.

I want a bit of a motorsport look and i'm thinking black / anthracite on the yellow car will look mean as f**k!!!!

Am i better off getting 15" whhels and lowering it keeping the standard width (195 tyres) or can you get some wider 16" wheels (205 / 215) as the standard wheels do look quite skinny considering the power!!

Will 15" wheels fit on with standard brakes???

Also what spacers can i fit and how much are they?

Someone told me to get a bigger offset to push the rear wheels out to improve the handling but then the front wheels are gonna be pushed out!!!!

Really would appreciate any advice!!!

Cheers

PS Any meets around the surrey area???

Spacers are available from badger5 for around £80 inc longer bolts/studs&nuts

20mm if running standard wheels, 15mm if your running a wheel 7" wide

You'd get away with cetain 15" wheels over 280's OX superleggereas being one of them, tho I'd stick to ET35 offset

Theirs a meet on the 1st of July in Cobham at The Fairmile.

Sorry wot do u mean by 280's???

I was looking at OZ records in black or some Pro Race 1.2's but Halfords (i know it's HALFORDS) said they only come in 17" or 18" for the ibiza.

I don't want any bigger than 16".

So i can fit 7" wide 16's.

I'm in Macclesfield on work that weekend!!! URGGH.

Would 15's not be better for acceleration and handling??

But eventually with maybe a brake upgrade i am going to need 16's aren't i.
Do u know how i can fit LCR brakes to the front?? Would they fit under 16's?

OK.

So what do u think would be the best upgrade to my brakes.

Bearing in mind i don't want to go any bigger than 16".

Do you know how far i can lower it on 16's and what kit is the best value for money??

Correct me if i'm worng but I think you can upgrade to a set of Brembo's like on the Ibiza Cupra R and get them underneath your 16's can't you?

Is that right guys?

Correct, but again your limited as to which particular alloys will clear the calipers such as the SEAT Sport super T's as fitted tot the cupra R's or Compomotive Mo's

Theres a thread somewhere covering the very subject.

If just paid for some 7x15 volk racing alloys for my cupra, i tryed them beforehand and there is more caliper clearance than the standard wheels :) Pick them up in a week or so

same as these

Unsure as to whether to keep them or not though.

16" Superleggera's with the correct offset are another option, from what i've been reading in older topics. 17" with ET38 are more comfortable.

The widning on the spacer you mention is that, total track widening (both sides together: 10mm + 10mm) or do you mean 20mm on each side?
