Hello,

Does anybody know if you can buy an oil filter for the 130PD from Halfords? I checked yesterday and the book said "ask at desk" and the guy gave me a filter. When I got home, drained all my oil and came to fit it, it was the wrong one [:@]

Unfortunately I can't take the old one in to show them as I need it in the car to get to work.

My "local" seat dealer is 25 miles away, which is why I don't go there if I can help it :)

Thanks

Well I managed to get a refund at Halfrauds and picked up the proper filter from the VW garage for just over £6.

If anyone's interested, the part number for the filter is:

071 115 562 A (from VW)

The SEAT part number is the same with an 'S' infront :D

I'd say the Helfrauds filter and SEAT one would be pretty much the same price

Did you manage to unscrew the filter cover OK ?

When I changed the filter on the Passat (same engine/filter) it was like it had been welded shut, took a LOT of force with a strap wrench...

The first time I did it I broke a strap wrench, and I got a nice big scar on my hand for the trouble. Has been easier to get off ever since
