110 TDi Cambelt question

Morning,

My Toledo is at the point where according to the service book its due a cambelt change - 40K miles. So I rang our local independant, who we have trusted with all out VAG cars, and he reckoned that 60K is ok between changes.

Apparently, the miles gap between changes can vary dramatically for the same engine from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Any ideas? Part of me says stick with 40K but part of me says go with their experience and greater knowledge of the range.

BTW, its the AHF engine IIRC, thanks in advance.

OK, so what will you be planning to change when you do the belt? Roller bearings + other stuff?
