1.9Tdi SE - what engine

Hi,

I am getting my first SEAT soon and are really looking forward to it. It is the first car where I actually want to learn about it (rather than just drive it) and this website has been great for this so far.

What I was wandering is what engine is in the car? It is a 52 plate registered in early 2003 Seat Ibiza 1.9TDi SE. I am guessing this is a mk4 and a 100Bhp engine but did not know whether it was a PD engine or not?

Any help would be great,

Matt

Thanks for the replies and the welcome :D

I pick my car up on Wednesday (assuming my insurance come through in time to tax it...). Getting it from an authroised dealer so paying a bit more but the years gurantee and extra work makes it worhtwhile in my book and gives me peace of mind.

Was trying to get a Sport TDi 130 but just couldn't get the mileage for the money I had. I have been looking at remaps and like the look of the revo one but will hold off for now - I have never done anything like that on a car before and will see how the drive is before i do it....

Now all I have to do is remember to fill it up with diesel and not petrol.....

Cheers,

Matt

Yep - waiting a while is the best thing to do. You'll get that "new car" feeling straight away anyway, so you might as well enjoy that for a few months. Then when that feeling has worn off, get it remapped - and then you'll enjoy the "new car" feeling all over again! :)

if its got 5 speed gearbox its a 100.

I have one aswel.

Was on the same boat as * actually as i couldnt find a tdi 130!

A remap would take the 100 to the 130 mark and a fmic will add more.

Unlike me im not bothered for speed, Just want the car looking good

I bought a 2002 tdi se in february privately. I've been very happy with it as with 75k on the clock it pulls like some of the newer cars i drive at work. The ride is nice on the motorways and quite bumpy around London . Modifications so far are the ,chrome interior air vent kit, dielectric grease in all visible engine plugs and cheapo TDC tuning box from ebay, which at the the mo, is working very well for me. Better alloys and air filter are on the agenda too.

My pick-up has been pushed back to friday due to logistics at the garage...I wasn't that excited about getting it at first but the more I read these forums the more I can't wait :D

I will have had my 2003 TDI SE for 2 years next month and apart from the odd couple of niggles most mk4 owners get - misting head/tail lights and the power steering light etc, I still love driving it. :D It will have hit 40000 miles in the next couple of weeks too.

Although I don't get to drive it as much as i'd like (I car share with a friend in the week, so it only gets driven on alternate days), to me it seems the more time I spend driving it, the better it gets/feels.

Plus the SE model (not the later SX) has got some little extras on it that didn't even make it into the Sports and Cupras as standard kit.

Heated Mirrors being one thing. Only found out recently that they weren't fitted as standard on the higher spec cars until a few months back when someone asked how to fit them to Cupra. I was amazed to say the least.

Oh and the Glovebox and Bootlight is another
