Well here I go again, My cars now 16 months old, still it has a judder around the 1750 RPM mark and now it's developing 'clutch judder'. Back to the dealer again tomorrow, I'm starting to regret getting rid of my Mk 1 now.[:@]

Make sure they have updated the ECU software to the latest version.

I got them to look at my judder when I took it for its 20k service. They replaced the flywheel (supposedly a common fault), and i've had no judder since.

I have the same 'juddering' problem aswell my cars only done 24k. What i've also noticed is a couple of seconds power hesitation when i'm putting my foot down... is this the clutch on its way out???

I have had the car remapped since 10k, so in terms of taking it for a ecu update thats out of the question....

If my clutch needed changing, instead of putting the normal 1.9 clutch in would i benefit in anyway from having a 2.0tdi clutch performance wise?

thanks

Well, after 15,000 miles, dashboard rattles, headlight misting, windscreen misting, door rattles, airbag failure, emissions failure, engine judder, funny noise occasionally when reversing, poor starting and a shite customer service at SEAT UK I've decided to throw the towel in and the dealer is taking my car car back off me this week. I can't stand it any more, the car looks great and goe's great (sometimes) but what next? I think a Toyota is on the cards or possibly an Astra - one thing that came from this - all the problems listed on this site - SEAT UK tell me they don't have hardly any problems!!

Well I ended up sticking with SEAT after they finally admitted my car was a bag of bones. I've now got a Mk5 Ibiza. Amazing what can come of telling them I was going to take them to court, I will say guys (and gals), Auto Express got involved as did the SMMT - the car really was that bad!!

Did you get your car from Seat Yeovil, same place I got mine although I moved just after. Have to say I found the dealers were ok although I never had any problems to sort out...

Leon Problems

Hi,

Yeah got mine from the CARSHOP, although they were initially good, when the problems started they done everything to avoid giving me a replacement car (bearing in mind the problems started within 48 hours!) Stupidly I agreed to let them 'fix' the car. In hindsight I should of just rejected it. After 2 and a half years of ownership, for SEAT to say there was something wrong and give give me a 'financial' incentive to change says a lot to me. At least it's gone now. Heres hoping that my next Leon will be better (the Ibiza's really good but it's no Leon!)

mine also had a bad clutch vibration. Nothing was done under warranty as i kept being told to wait till it gets worse.

It got worse by snapping the engine mount from the block of the engine, which was ultimatly down to the flywheel. Seat would not admit this but after paying for an indepentant report, this was the cause.

Waited 5 weeks as i was not willing to pay a single penny, and 5 weeks later seat UK paid all the costs..... BE warned, get it fixed asap under warranty!!!
