Read about these 1.8 20VT conversions and it tickles my fancy lol, would this be a possible conversion into the car stated as in title? if so where could i get it done and what am i looking at price wise? Or would it be easier to save up for a 2.0l 16v and do it to that instead?

Cheers for any replies

id go along the 16v route. Remember iv you,ve got a 1.4 you,ll need to replace rear axels, suspension, front brakes master cylinder.....prity much everything and it'll still just be a converted 1.4. get your self a 16v cupra sport and leave the engine for a while or untill you destroye it thats my plan for my one

Gona give you a boring answer and say that in the real world its actually easier to save up for a mk3 1.8T and just buy that. Unless you have your own well equiped garage and a good access to a lot of SEAT parts (cough# ROLY #cough) and have the luck of finding a cheap rear ended mk3, you are looking at a lot of money. By the time you paid for the conversion including all the labour, parts, VAT and other special insurance, you could as well have a half decent chipped 1.8T mk3.

But it definitely doesn't mean you shouldnt do it. If its what you want to do and you have a LOT of cash and time to spare, then the worlds your oyster.

At the end of the day its up to you [B)]

Funny enough Dolly i was looking at your motor, does look mint. When do you need to get rid off, cause i would have to sell my car in order to get the funds for your car? Wasn't planning on buying a new motor just yet.
