Hi guys, firstly does a Cupra or MK2 suspension fit on a 2001 1.6 Sport?? Can you buy a coilover kit ment for cupra and fit it to my car or does it have to be the kit that says specifically for my car??
Secondly I dont know if there is many 1.6 owners out there but does anyone know any tips for getting the best out of the engine??? I have a Cat back powerflow exhaust and will be getting induction kit. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers ;)

Some people believe that Sports have Cupra suspension anyway, but all suspension for the mk3's fit all the models. Im halfway through fitting some TA Technix coilovers.

As for power, I too have a powerflow catback and a custom cone induction kit, thats about all you can really do, although you could re-map it but gains would be very little. I contacted RS Tuning in Leeds about this and its £300 +vat which would see a gain of about 6-7bhp and about the same in torque

Ok cheers for ya help m8 :) So why do they list coilovers kits but say for different engines only for the MK3??? Surely it would say fit all MK3???

So has the Sport got Cupra shocks on it?? It does seem very stiff.

Also does the MK2 and MK3 have the same setup???

As for the engine its shame there is nothin else you can do apart from the cheap ebay stick a reisistor in ya sensor mod lol.

mk2 front shocks fit a different top mount to the mk3.

Cupra suspension will fit a 1.6 sport easily yes, just the spring rates are different as the front end of a Cupra is heavier. Not by much mind you so there isn't a vast difference in the suspension.

Check the for sale section there are a few suspension options in there.

Firstly do not buy one of them resistors!!!!

the mk 2 suspension will not fit, there are plenty of places that do lowering springs, coilover kits and spring and shock kits,

and yes it is a shame that there arent many performance mods but that is due to the rarity of the car anyways!! glad to see another 1.6 owner though :)
