why bother? the ibiza gti comes with the same engine, and can be bought for peanuts.
insuring a 1.4/gti engine car will cost as much as buying a gti ,if not more, depending on your age.(i'm guessiing you're young)
So, a mk3 golf gti was fitted with a 2.0 8v engine. i think its a poor engine, with an even poorer gearbox. However, it would fit no problems and be a straight swap. It was put into mk2 ibiza's which are nearly exactly the same to mk3 ibiza's.
But then you could just buy a mk2? Or buy a mk2 with a 2.0 16v? Or buy a mk3 with a 1.8t?
don't bother mate.insurance will say "no chance" i imagine you're already into the thousands for car inursance as it is.
i'd wait and get some NCB in the bank and then just buy a faster car.
