Sorry for adding to the never ending list of remap threads
I'm thinking of getting my 1.4 ACT (150HP) remapped. I have the 7 speed dry clutch DSG gearbox.
The chap at Yorkshire Tuning said the car would be perfect with the map and it would cause any problems, but I just want to check on here first. The figures I've been quoted were 150hp to 170hp and 250nm to 300nm for torque. I've seen on the Skoda forum people have been pleased with the map but I've seen on this forum only that the DSG with this engine can only take the stock 250nm and that it can't handle the extra torque.
Has anyone else with the same engine and gearbox got their car remapped? Or is the max torque figure for the DSG box actually much higher? I doubt they'd release a car that's always working at maximum capacity otherwise replacing the clutch packs would have to be done extremely often
