Just wondering if anyone out there has put the revo software on a 1.4 sport or FS? If so is there a noticable difference making it worth spending the £200 or shall I go elsewhere? (I'm pretty new to SCN and i tried the search but couldn't find anything! so sorry if this has been posted before :))

Thanks guys yeah I've looked at the site a bit more and 8 - 15% increase does seem too little to bother! I may just go down the dealership and try it out for the 5 hours and see if its noticeable, not expecting much though!

Would have got an fr if i wasnt so young!

wow mate! 17 you are young. even though im 21. When I was 17, I was kicking about in a £650 60bhp Mk1 3dr Punto 60s! Had it till August 07 then bought the Cupra. Got 3yrs no claims on it and now my insurance is very manageable - even on the cupra. I'd say buy 2nd hand and somethng you can afford comfortably. Dont jump into any big finance at the mo ;) and hold back till youve got some NCB behind you and buy a decent spec car at 20-21. ;)

Sorry for the lecture! lol :coolthumb:

Thumbs up for researching on a forum though before you buy!!

ahh mate yeah i was planning on doing that with the 106 that i have just sold! i had a 50cc bike when i was 16 and got a years no claims on that and also counting the current year ive got with direct line.. they accepted the moped insurance and on the 1.4 sport im only paying a grand fully comp in my own name :D

I would have bought a second hand car that was fairly nippy (and a little more safe than that ****ing 106!!) but my dad really liked the ibiza and so he just said that he would get me it because they are good reliable cars.. I then found this website and found that the community is greaaaaaaaaat and if i was to mod it at all you guys are the first place to turn as you've done it all!

I'm hoping to step up to a cupra in a couple of years.. or i must admit i REALLY do like the mini cooper S' with an aero kit on and a nice set of wheels!

:D :funk:

good stuff mate if your dads there to support you then why not?? Get the Seat!! lol. Take a trip down to the dealers a get a test drive and a feel of the car. Remember to haggle for a discount as there is a new Ibiza range coming out soon (MK5) I think 2009? So hopefully you get a little off.

I hear the Cooper S also comes with a Hairdryer, Straighteners and Scissors?

Keep us updated! ;)

A grand fully comp in your name. Directline gonna charge me like 1400 to insure my 1.4 at 19 with 1 yrs ncb. I dont understand why I get shafted so much.

I reckon you should do the trial and then report back fella!

for the DAB sport (same engine but digital radio) at 22 with like 6 months driving etc i was paying £967 (got dad insured on it as it knocked it down like £80 or so and means he can drive it if i need)

Then i got my points on my licence.... Direct Line quoted £140 more, so had to lower my yearly mileage to get it down to £85 extra.

Think the formula sport was about £100 cheaper insurance than the DAB though for some odd reason. (almost bought one but had a good deal on the DAB)

Yeah Dad's paying £5500 deposit and i've got the rest on the 0% finance deal they introduced over the Christmas period :D

waaay ahead of you mate! went down there 3 weeks ago and test drove a 5-door sport 85PS.. loved it! holds the road really well and even the 85Ps one i found to be pretty punchy in the low revs (slightly more punchy than my 1.1 106 ;) haha ) Dad had a go and was impressed so he ordered it! picking it up on Saturday :D:D can't ****ing wait!

haha thats the only argument i've got against them!

Yeah, the second year drops the insurance price by about 20%, only thing is direct line are so strict on things like changing the wheels (25 years old to change from the standard alloys!!!) but they are pretty much the only people about that will accept my moped ncb and discount me for it :(

Yeah will do mate!

:D

nah mate afraid not, i've done numerous re-quotes with them over the last few months on loads of different cars, each time they make a ****ing huuuuuuuge fuss about me ensuring that i'm not changing my alloys from the ones that came with the car. I think its pretty ridiculous as the only two reasons I can see them having for this is 1. stealability but this really isn't anything to do with your age. and 2. for cars that are small (i.e 1.1's and 1.2's or basically cars that young drivers can get insured on and afford etc.) come with small wheels therefore boys being boys they will want to slap 17's on there which will obviously put the speedo out.. Still a pretty shitty reason though!!

As soon as i get my ncb above like 4 im leaving directline! :funk:

Canon is that the Vaillante facelift bumper I can see on the ibiza? Saw one down at the local stealers the other day looks smart, Think its just out. But not as nice as the cupra bumper. :D
