Howdy good people.

I have a few quick questions, since help is needed for a good friend of mine.
(I've tried the search, etc. Im based miles away too, so cant offer my help directly)

Seat Ibiza 2000, 1.4 cool/s

The car went in for a oil change / service type thing. Since getting the car back, they have had the oil warning light come up on the dash, and a bleeping noise.

There are no apparent leaks, and all pipe / cabling seems fine.
Car drives fine, but the bleeping is obviously anoying.

Q1) So what do you think might be the problem?
Q2) Does the car have an oil pressure SENSOR, and if so, where is it located on the engine?
Could this be the problem?
(point it out on the picture if you would be so so kind.)

Q3) Does the car have an oil pressure SWITCH? And if so, where is that located?

Hope SCN can come to the rescue once again.

Cheers ears

Ok, I'm going to try and help you out.

I'm 100% sure about the water sensor, but i'm not 100% about the oil sensor, it hink its that one. Sure looks like it.

Hope this helps ya, i suggest you get vagcom to see what that error is.

Cheers for this. I have the same problem in my cool/s. Oil late comes on when you hit 1,500rpm. it will stay flashing for the entire journey. TBH, I've sorta got used to it now. But would be great to get it sorted.

BTW: My garage checked everything also and they cant see the problem. So rang Autoworld, they said "the clocks are knackered and need replacing" £500 they want just for clocks. **** that!

Had this just recently, thought it was more of a serious problem as the oil light is misleading to what the problem is.

Had to trucked to Seat, £83 later a new £8 oil switch was fitted. Been fine since

going from when i looked at drive forwards arosa i have a feeling they are in the front of the block behind the manifold ? about level with the alternator ?

:edit:
DF's arosa was a 16v sorry - looking on the tech book it lists

1 - 0.3...0.6 bar oil pressure switch -F1-, 25 Nm
Identification: green

and appears to be fitted to the end of the cylinder head above the gearbox to the rear

looking at the 2nd pic above i'd say just underneath the rh plug lead

saved a screenshot if it helps ?
