1.4 16V Rough Idle

[Fabia 12v]

Hi guys... after some advice have recently aquired a 2003 ibiza 1.4 16v.

Idle is all over the place when warm...

- Carried out throttle body clean and re-set.
- Replaced all four coils.

Still nothing!! Rough idle car shaking.

Can any one advise me on this matter?

Also temp guage... my needle sits just 1/2mm from 90 degrees (below) is this correct?? Or should it be bang on 90 degrees?

ye the temp sounds correct.

coil pack going dodgy when it gets hot ??? and engine running on 3 pots

maybe a problem with one of the many sensors under the bonnet,

from memory there is an engine temp sensor as well as a coolant temp sensor for you to see on the dash

the engine temp sensor can go faulty and muck up the tickover when hot

what is the car like when you put your foot down? Do the exhaust fumes look normal ?

absolutly fine, just been from london to sctoland and back... only ever goes weird on me at idle!

there is sometimes some slight bounce from the engine but usually mine does it at startup and is fine when warm. Im intrigued to know what the problem is with your car!
