Im thinking of upgrading to a new facelift 1.4 16v sport but it only has 75bhp compared to the old 100bhp model. The new sport doesnt seem to be much of a difference compared to my 1.2 (75bhp vs. 64bhp) on paper, but if i was able to extract an extra 25bhp from it, surely it would be a different kettle of fish.

Any ideas how i would be able to get the extra performance from the unit, and is it just like the mini one and copper, same engine - different ecu map?

Cheers,

Nate

I thought the facelift 1.2 and 1.4's got engine tweaks to make them higher bhp. The 1.2 is now 70 odd I think, so I would imagine the 1.4 is over 80? Have u checked seat.co.uk for specs?

Well look on seat.com and you wont find a 64 bhp 1.2 model, only 70bhp. The 1.4's lowest output is 85 there also, then 100bhp. I'm sure I read it on here or the other site.

id go with the .co.uk one tbh...jus coz the spanish guys say theres gonna be a new engine...doesnt mean we will get it in the UK immediately. Id say ask the dealer, but we all know what use that would be!!

if u want more power id look @ the TDi as an option...easily upgradable to higher outputs @ a later date too...
